Gene expression analysis makes it possible to observe how the activity of certain genes changes in the presence of an active ingredient. It helps to characterize its mechanism of action: the observed variations make it possible to identify biological pathways likely to be modulated and subsequently direct research toward more specific markers. This method was notably used to study Complex {G}5®, a patented active ingredient resulting from Alaena research. Its analysis highlighted the modulation of 455 genes involved in skin aging. { OBSERVER L'ACTION BIOLOGIQUE SUR DES MODÈLES DE PEAU HUMAINE }
Following the identification of biological pathways of interest, ex vivo studies allow for the investigation of specific effects directly on human skin tissues maintained under controlled experimental conditions. When combined with techniques such as immunostaining, they enable the detection and quantification of specific markers involved in various biological functions of the skin. This approach has notably been used to study the action of Complex {G}5® on markers associated with barrier function, hydration, and the extracellular matrix. These evaluations were performed by Eurofins BIO-EC, an independent dermatological research center.

Clinical evaluations are used to study the evolution of skin parameters in volunteers or patients according to a defined protocol. Depending on the study's objective, the evaluation can be based on instrumental measurements or on the clinical observation of previously defined criteria: skin quality and suppleness, hydration, appearance of wrinkles, or the evolution of a weakened skin area. At Alaena, the methodology used is specified for each study in order to distinguish between clinical observation, instrumental measurement, biological study, and user-reported results.

Les tests d’usage complètent les mesures biologiques, cliniques et instrumentales en évaluant la perception du produit par ses utilisateurs dans des conditions définies d’utilisation.Ils permettent notamment d’évaluer des critères tels que le confort, l’hydratation ressentie, l’éclat, la souplesse ou l’apparence de la peau.Un résultat issu d’un test d’usage correspond à une auto-évaluation des participants. Il est donc présenté comme tel et distingué d’un résultat obtenu par mesure instrumentale, analyse biologique ou évaluation clinique.Cette distinction permet une lecture transparente des résultats.

These studies notably examined markers associated with barrier function, hydration, and the extracellular matrix.
{ CRÈME RÉPARATRICE - ÉVALUATION CLINIQUE AU CHU DE BORDEAUX }
The Alaena Repair Cream was subject to a clinical evaluation at the Bordeaux University Hospital, within the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, under the supervision of Prof. Pélissier. Its objective was to evaluate the repairing properties of the Repair Cream. The clinical evaluation focused in particular on skin repair, wound closure, skin suppleness and quality, inflammation, and pain. Clinical observations notably noted, according to the patients, an improvement in the suppleness and quality of the skin, hydration, and the peri-lesional area, as well as progress in skin repair.
